Natus Vincere have missed out on the opportunity to defend their World Cyber Games title, following a 2-0 loss against KerchNET in the Ukrainian qualifier semi-final.
The second semi-final in the Ukrainian WCG qualifier saw Natus Vincere take on KerchNET, a match to decide who would face off against DTS in the qualifier final.
Most would have expected the 2010 WCG winners to qualify for the final, but KerchNET had other plans. The match started on de_inferno, which turned into a great show for the opening map in this series. The map went all the way to the second overtime, to determine the winning team. With four rounds straight, KerchNET locked it down 22-18.
Moving to second map de_tuscan, Na´Vi started on the Terrorists side, scoring a 10-5 lead before switching to the CT side. On the CT side things did not go smooth for the Ukrainian giants. KerchNET found a way through every defense Na´Vi put up. KerchNET racked up a lot of rounds, forcing Na´Vi to call a timeout to discuss how to stop KerchNET. Little did the timeout help Na´Vi, as KerchNET continue to win rounds, leading up to a very surprisingly 16-11 victory and 2-0 overall.

KerchNET advance to face DTS in the qualifier final, which will determine who will get the WCG spot with paid travel and accommodation, while the runner-up will get a WCG spot too, but will have to cover all expenses on their own. Na´Vi will play selectah in a third place decider match, which will determine who will get prizes from the qualifier sponsors.
WCG 2010 winners likely to miss WCG 2011
In theory, there is still a very slim chance for Na´Vi to go to WCG. Should the runner-up in the final not be able to cover the expenses, the spot could fall in the hands of Na´Vi, that would however also require a win against selectah.
